Privacy Policy
Applications: Panchang Apps · Developer: AppZila · Effective: July 25, 2026
Introduction
Welcome to the Panchang Apps published by AppZila ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you download, install, or use any of the language-specific Panchang mobile applications listed in Section 2 (each an "Application," and together the "Applications") on Android or iOS devices, and when you visit our website at www.appzila.com (the "Site").
Each Application provides a regional-language Vedic / Hindu calendar experience — including daily panchang (Tithi, Vara, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana), festival dates, muhurat guidance, and related cultural content — tailored to the language of that app. The Applications share the same developer, architecture, and data practices; this single Privacy Policy covers all of them.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using any Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Application immediately.
This Privacy Policy applies to users globally, including users in India, the European Economic Area ("EEA"), the United Kingdom ("UK"), California (USA), and other jurisdictions. Where applicable law grants additional rights, those rights are described below.
- We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
- Core panchang calculations and calendar views are provided without requiring you to create an account.
- Preferences you set in the app (language, city, reminders) are stored on your device unless otherwise stated.
- We use Google AdMob for advertising and Firebase for analytics and crash reporting.
- Panchang content is for informational and cultural purposes and is not medical, legal, or financial advice.
Covered Applications
This Privacy Policy applies equally to each of the following Applications published by AppZila:
References to "the Application" mean whichever of the above apps you are using. Unless a feature is unique to one language edition, the same data practices apply across the full set.
Information We Collect
We collect only information that is necessary to provide, improve, secure, and support the Applications.
3.1 Information You Provide
The Applications do not require account creation or sign-in to use core panchang features. You may voluntarily provide:
- A preferred city or location name so sunrise, sunset, and local timings can be shown more accurately;
- In-app preferences such as language, calendar style, or reminder settings;
- Name and email address if you contact us for support or feedback.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use an Application, we and our third-party service providers may automatically collect:
- Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or Apple IDFA/IDFV), screen resolution, and device locale.
- Usage Data: Features accessed (e.g., daily panchang viewed, festival calendar opened, muhurat checked), session duration, and in-app navigation patterns, collected at an aggregated and/or pseudonymous level.
- Diagnostic and Crash Data: Error logs, crash reports, stack traces, and performance metrics via Firebase Crashlytics.
- Advertising Identifiers: Resettable advertising identifiers used by Google AdMob, subject to your consent preferences.
- IP Address and Approximate Location: Your IP address may be collected by third-party SDKs for fraud prevention and regional ad targeting. We do not require continuous precise GPS tracking for core panchang features.
3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
We explicitly do not collect, upload, or store:
- Government ID numbers or financial account credentials.
- Your contact list, SMS, call logs, or microphone / camera content.
- Biometric data of any kind.
- Continuous background location tracking for marketing or profiling purposes.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide and maintain the Application: Display daily panchang, festivals, muhurat, and language-specific calendar content.
- To personalise timings (optional): Use a city or location you select (or approximate location if you grant permission) to show more accurate local sunrise, sunset, and related timings.
- To improve the Application: Analyse aggregated usage to understand which features are most useful and prioritise updates.
- To detect and fix bugs: Use crash and diagnostic reports to improve stability.
- To serve advertisements: Display ads via Google AdMob to support free availability of the Applications.
- To send optional notifications: If you enable them, deliver daily panchang reminders, festival alerts, or service notices.
- To comply with legal obligations: Respond to lawful requests and meet applicable legal requirements.
- To communicate with you: Respond to support inquiries you initiate.
Where GDPR applies, we process information under performance of a contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (product improvement and security), consent (personalized advertising and optional notifications), and legal obligation.
Panchang Data and Local Processing
- Calendar content: Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, festivals, and muhurat information are presented for cultural and informational use.
- Saved preferences: City selection, reminder toggles, and similar settings are typically stored locally on your device. We do not use these preferences to build a saleable personal profile.
- Share / export: If you share a panchang card or festival detail via your device share sheet, that action is handled by your operating system and destination app; we do not receive a copy of what you share unless you also send it to us for support.
- No professional advice: The Applications are informational tools. They do not provide medical, legal, financial, or professional counselling advice.
Permissions We Request and Why
Each Application requests only the minimum permissions needed for its features.
Internet Access
Why we need it: To load advertisements, send anonymized analytics and crash reports, and (where applicable) fetch calendar or content updates. Internet access is not used to upload your private notes or contact lists.
Network State
Why we need it: To check connectivity before loading ads or updates and avoid unnecessary errors on poor connections.
Approximate / Precise Location (optional)
Why we need it (if requested): To determine your city or coordinates for more accurate local sunrise, sunset, and related panchang timings. You may decline and select a city manually. The Application's core calendar remains usable without location permission.
Notification Permission
Why we need it (if applicable): Optional daily panchang reminders, festival alerts, or service notices. Core features remain available if you decline.
Storage / Media (if applicable)
Why we need it (if applicable): To save or share image cards or calendar exports you explicitly create. The Application does not scan your photo library or files for unrelated content.
Advertising and Google AdMob
The Applications use Google AdMob, a mobile advertising service provided by Google LLC, to display advertisements that help support free availability of the apps.
How AdMob Works
AdMob may collect and use:
- Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID / Apple IDFA)
- IP address and approximate location (country/region level)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
- In-app ad impressions, clicks, and interactions
- Coarse usage signals (app category, feature usage patterns)
Personalized vs. Non-Personalized Ads
Where required by law (including in the EEA, UK, and other jurisdictions), the Application presents a consent dialog before displaying personalized ads. If you decline, you will receive non-personalized advertisements.
You may reset or opt out of interest-based advertising in device settings:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (Android 12+) or Opt out of Ads Personalization.
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track," or Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → disable "Personalized Ads."

Analytics and Crash Reporting
Firebase Analytics
We use Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) to collect anonymized and aggregated usage statistics, such as:
- App open and session events
- Feature-level events (e.g., panchang viewed, festival opened, muhurat checked)
- Device and OS information
- App version
- First open and install attribution
This data is pseudonymized. We do not use it to identify you personally. More information: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Firebase Crashlytics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to detect and report crashes. Crashlytics may collect stack traces, device state at crash time, app version, and a pseudonymous installation UUID. Crash data is used to fix defects, not to identify individual users.
Third-Party Services
The Applications may integrate the following third-party services, each subject to its own privacy policy:
| Service | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Google LLC | In-app advertising |
| Firebase Analytics | Google LLC | Usage analytics and product insights |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Google LLC | Crash reporting and stability monitoring |
| Google Play Services | Google LLC | Core Android platform services, consent management |
| Apple System Services | Apple Inc. | Core iOS platform services (iOS only) |
Google Play Data Safety and Apple App Privacy Disclosures
In accordance with store disclosure requirements, the following categories are typically declared for the Applications:
- Data Collected: Device or other IDs (Advertising ID), app interactions, crash logs, diagnostics; approximate location if you grant permission.
- Data Shared: Advertising ID and usage data may be shared with Google AdMob and Firebase for advertising and analytics.
- Data Security: Data is encrypted in transit. Users may request data deletion (see GDPR and CCPA sections).
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: Google and other vendors who provide advertising, analytics, crash reporting, or infrastructure under contractual restrictions.
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
- With Your Direction: When you share content via third-party apps (WhatsApp, etc.), those platforms process shared content under their own policies.
Data Retention
- On-device preferences: Remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall the Application.
- Analytics data: Retained according to Firebase retention settings we configure, generally in aggregated or pseudonymous form.
- Crash logs: Typically retained for about 90 days by default in Crashlytics.
- Advertising data: Governed by Google AdMob's retention policies.
- Support communications: Up to 24 months unless a longer period is needed to resolve an issue.
When retention is no longer necessary, we delete or anonymise data, or isolate it from active use until deletion from backups is complete.
Security Measures
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit (TLS), data minimisation, and restricted access to analytics dashboards. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Applications are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK, or such higher age as required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at info@appzila.com, and we will take steps to delete it promptly.
GDPR Rights (EEA and UK Users)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, email info@appzila.com with the subject line "GDPR Data Request — Panchang Apps." We will respond within 30 days where required, after verifying your identity. Because core features do not require an account, personal data attributable to you may be limited primarily to analytics, crash, advertising, and support communications.
Legal Basis for Processing
- Legitimate Interests: Analytics, crash reporting, fraud prevention.
- Consent: Personalized advertising and optional notifications where a consent dialog is shown.
- Performance of Contract: Providing panchang and calendar features you request.
- Legal Obligation: Compliance with applicable laws.
CCPA Rights (California Residents)
California residents may have rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information. To submit a request, email info@appzila.com with the subject line "CCPA Privacy Request — Panchang Apps." We will respond within 45 days of a verifiable request.
Categories typically collected include identifiers (advertising / device IDs), internet or network activity (app usage, crash data), and approximate location if permission is granted.
International Users
The Applications are operated from India and available globally. Information may be transferred to and processed in India, the United States (where providers such as Google LLC operate), and other countries. By using an Application, you understand such transfers occur in accordance with this Policy and applicable safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses where required).
Users in other jurisdictions (including India under the DPDP Act, Brazil under LGPD, Canada under PIPEDA, and Australia under the Privacy Act) may have additional rights. Contact us to exercise applicable local rights.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. For material changes, we will update the Effective Date, display a notice in the Application or on www.appzila.com, and/or notify you where required by law. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms, except where additional consent is required.
